What is Spider Vein Removal?

Spider veins are a collection of small veins that show through the skin, usually on the legs and the nose and cheek area of the face. They are unattractive and can be a source of embarrassment. Sclerotherapy is a widely used treatment for spider veins. It involves injecting an agent into the vein, which causes inflammation within the vein and subsequent closing of the vein. Lasers, concentrated beams of light, are also used on spider veins. With a laser, strong bursts of light will travel into the vein, causing it to slowly fade from the area.
