MICRONEEEDLING FAQ
How does Microneedling work?
Microneedling works by causing trauma to the skin. This treatment stimulates your body’s natural wound healing process, while minimizing cellular damage. This rejuvenates your skin from the inside out. This results in effective remodeling of scar tissue, while keeping the overall structure of the skin intact.
What does the Platelet Rich Plasma Upgrade do?
Microneedling with Platelet Rich Plasma is a cosmetic treatment that stimulates an extra boost of collagen production and increases healing factors by penetrating plasma into the treated area. The addition of Platelet Rich Plasma from the blood makes Microneedling more effective.
What do the Platelet Rich Fibrin Injections do?
Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) is a combination of second generation Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and Hyaluronic Acid, which helps rejuvenate the skin, fight early signs of aging, and add volume to under-eyes, cheeks and also scalp for hair restoration.
What can you expect with Microneedling?
We require you to arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment so that topical numbing ointment can be applied to the soon-to-be treated area. Your medical professional may also capture photographs of the soon-to-be treated area(s).
If you are doing the PRP upgrade, expect to arrive 45-60 minutes earlier than your scheduled appointment time in order to have your blood drawn and have the topical numbing cream applied to the soon-to-be treated area.
Once the treatment has started, you will feel a tingly sensation on the treated area. Some patients say the process feels like having sandpaper rubbed across the treated area. During the treatment, your skin may become red and tight, creating the sensation that you have been sunburned.
After the treatment, the aesthetic Registered Nurse will apply and massage Hyaluronic Acid to the treated area and if you upgraded to the PRP, they will apply and massage the rest of the Platelet Rich Plasma to the treated area. We require you to wait at least four hours before washing your face, and wait at least a day before applying a gentle cleanser and moisturizer.
